Money V/S Happiness
Happiness doesn’t
always come from money. There are so many other factors that need to be in in
place for a person to be blissful. You may have seen people in life who have
lots of money, still no patience, no happiness in life and much loneliness. It is
been scientifically and psychologically proven that money alone can’t bring
happiness. It is the other factors that also contribute to a person being
happy. No doubt that money is also one of the factors, but we often don’t give
other factors enough importance in life. That’s why despite achieving so much
in life, many people are still hopeless and unsatisfied with their lives.
It is not about
achieving goals; it is also about what you sacrifice in achieving them. If you
sacrifice your family time, an activity that freshens you up, a long drive with
best friends, a dinner date with your partner, quality time with your kids, helping
your elders, then you haven’t sacrificed the right thing for achieving your
goals.
When you sacrifice
such things then it becomes a habit that doesn’t lay off easily. You will
become more materialistic and you will always give priority to your work over
everything else in your life. This is not a healthy trend and is often the
cause of depression and loneliness.
If you want to
sacrifice something for your goals, then you must sacrifice your excessive
sleeping hours. You must sacrifice your overtime in watching videos and
browsing the internet. You can cut down on daydreaming, gossiping and start doing
things rather than sacrificing your family time.
There are so many
ways in which you can utilize your allotted 24 hours in a perfect manner. You can
make timetables; you can keep a diary or a small notebook in pocket that marks
your day’s activity. 24 hours are more than enough for every activity that you want
to do if you plan it every day.
As you can see in
the picture above that even playing with my daughter and spending time with my
wife is on the list. Because often we can get busy in other chores or some left
over work that is haunting us all day. So, to have a better control over my
schedule I often write my everyday goals and activities every day, therefore I am
kept reminded of my family duties as well.
At the end of the
day, analyze yourself for five minutes and see what you could’ve done better in
the day. This way you will never miss anything in life. Only work and goals is
a boring life. Living holistically is the right essence of life.
Love and power to
you
