Respect other's opinion

Different minds, different ideas. This quote is so true, and I have always believed in the fact that everyone on this globe has different perspectives and ideas. And it is our duty to display our emotions and place our opinions on the table at the time of discussion but more importantly listening to others as well. Listening to other’s perspectives, their notions on a certain thing and respecting their opinions is crucial.

You just can’t say that I am right or he’s wrong. It is the way you perceive this world. Your opinions are formed on the basis of your upbringing and the kind of exposure you had in the past. Your opinions develop due to the research you do, knowledge you have and your attitude towards life.

It is not wrong to have different opinions than others. And same goes the other way. It is not wrong if others have different opinions than yours. You must admire everyone’s opinion and you can listen to them carefully and attentively before putting yours. Considering yourself right or better than others is not the correct attitude to live with. Your learning halts when you don’t listen to other’s viewpoints. I am not telling you to follow what they say, but you must have the courage and capacity to listen to other’s viewpoint as well.

People who just speak their own mind and don’t listen to other’s thoughts are weak and insecure. They don’t have the attitude to learn something new. They don’t have the capacity to bear that someone can know better than them. They don’t want to accept the fact that everyone is unique so their viewpoints will also differ.

A mature person will always keep his views in front of others but will always listen to them as well. When you debate about certain things in life, you must be ready to accept the fact that not everyone will agree to what you say. And you don’t express your opinions to others to make them accept your thoughts. It is simply an exercise that we do in our daily life. We encounter different people and we discuss numerous things with them. Arguing on something will not lead you anywhere. Useless heated debates have resulted in broken friendships and relations.

Even if you face an aggressive debater, it is better to remain quiet. Not discussing something or not keeping your viewpoint on something will not pull you down. But debating belligerently and using every point to prove yourself right is not worth it.

So, from next time whenever you discuss something or debate on a certain topic, keep your viewpoint in front of others and listen to their point carefully. Accept everyone and everyone’s opinions.

Love and power to you
