Don’t Stop, Keep Going!

 

                 


Slow and steady wins the race. We all must have read this quote millions of times in our childhood. But do we really follow it and admire the deep learning that is associated with it? Actually, most people don’t really live by this quote in today’s era as no one wants to be slow and lag behind others. Everyone wants to win the race of life and secure a bright future as quickly as possible. This attitude by no means a negative one.

As gaining success in a relative short period of time is one of the most wonderful feelings that one can get. But in most of the cases, success comes gradually. It requires time, patience and regular efforts. This quote that slow and steady wins the race is not about going slow towards your goal but to be persistent and working for your dreams non-stop. This quote signifies the importance of perseverance and patience during tough times. To simplify, there will be many obstacles in life that will slow you down. Those obstacles will knock you in the face and will hit you hard when you are sailing smooth. So, it requires tremendous courage and efforts to keep going despite setbacks. Even if life hits you hard, you must never stop. Even if you can’t walk towards your goal, crawl towards it. But make sure that you put in every effort to reach there. Make sure you don’t give up in the midway and surrender on your dreams.

The only thing that matters in reaching your goal is the tenacity you show towards reaching your goal. Some people may be ahead of you and some may lag behind. But you are not there to compete with anyone. You are there to compete with yourself and run your own race. Even if you are slower than others, you’ve got to be steady. You’ve got to be consistent and make small efforts everyday without break. This habit of putting in regular efforts will prove to be the catalyst for your success.

                                   This is an activity that most millennial's lack these days. I am afraid that reading books will soon be a thing of the past. Books are your real friends. When you need inspiration, you can grab a book and read it. You learn greatly through books. I remember that I was never a good reader. I would read occasionally but in 2015 I got my hand on a book ‘Long walk to freedom’ by Nelson Mandela. The reason I bought that book was that I admired him greatly and always wanted to meet him in person. But this is the story of most of the people, we want to meet our heroes but it’s not always easy. But be a bad liar and dishonest in making excuses. People who find excuses to do certain things are enemies of their own. This also weakens the character of a person.
