Make a Timetable

ISO 8601: The global standard for date and time formats - IONOS

Just like your school times, you ought to have a set timetable in your life to run it smoothly and to utilize every bit of it. Having a schedule ensures that you are all set for a highly effective day and you won’t miss on most of the things.

Timetable allows you to have that extra hour or so than a normal person who is approaching his/her day casually. A set roaster gives you an opportunity to align your work with your goals and complete it in a given span of time. Timetable will ensure that you utilize every minute of your precious time.

Most people who are not successful invariably won’t have a timetable in their lives. They will always find themselves in a haste and panic. They will surely have a list of activities to do but they won’t have the plan and action to do it.

Without a timetable in your daily routine, you can’t accomplish all the tasks that you think of! It is not a rocket science that is required to make a timetable. It is as simple as jotting down notes in an important class.

So how, when and where you can make an effective timetable? A timetable must be made a day before you are going to execute your actions. Take out 10 minutes in the evening and make a list of important tasks to be completed in the coming week. Then divide those tasks day wise and assign task to the relevant day or time. Make a timetable for a week so that you can make changes as your week progresses and you can add or subtract your tasks accordingly. Then keep that timetable in your pocket and follow what it says.

There are two types of tasks that you work on in your life. One type of task is the permanent one that you want to achieve everyday like waking up early, doing exercise, yoga, spending time with your family/kids, reading books, writing something, and so on. The other tasks are temporary like paying electricity bill, making a presentation, buying gym equipment, booking tickets for your travel, and so forth.

The temporary tasks must be looked upon and evaluated everyday in the evening before you make a schedule. And then you must see whether you were able to complete your temporary tasks or not. If yes, then tick mark the point, if not then write it again and do it on the next day.

For permanent tasks, make a monthly list of things that on how many days you managed to get up early in the morning and read a book, or do yoga or go for a run. At the end of each month you’ll come to know whether you were successful or not in achieving your permanent tasks.

This habit of making a timetable and analyzing your routine will surely help you become a matured and successful person. It will give you a chance to contemplate your performance and life goals. It will allow you to track your performances and will clearly show you that how much improvement is needed in your routine and life. It will reveal the real picture of you and what all you can achieve in a week’s time.

I have been doing this for years and learnt it from my grandfather. Making timetable even for projects and small tasks and breaking them into hours can benefit you to a great extent. It has helped me over the years to complete my tasks on time, to complete them faster and effectively than others.

So, what are you waiting for? Make a timetable today and complete your tasks on time.
