Spend time with Elders

Legal rights of elders in India. Are we treating our elders ...

The generation gap is increasing day by day and that is partly due to the advents of new technology and largely due to the gap in the thinking of different generations. Most of the youngsters don’t really appreciate their elder’s vision and foresight. There’s nothing wrong in that as youngsters these days have their own vision and way of living life.

But there are millions of things that we can learn from our elders. They are the ones who have seen more life than us. They are more experienced and have wealth of knowledge. They have walked the path that you are walking now. We have so much to learn from them. Spending time with elders has a lot of advantages for both young and the old. When you spend time with them, you can learn things that you won’t learn at schools or universities.

Elders are the most vulnerable age group of our society. They will feel secure when you spend time with them. They have given so much to society when they were young and now it is time for us to do something for them. Just take out 30 minutes of your time everyday and talk to an elder you know. It could be your grandparents or your ageing parents.

When you spend time with them, they realize that there is someone who will be there when they need it the most. Elders are a wonderful gift to the society, and we should admire and respect them. Spend more time with them and learn from their experiences.

Imagine that you spend time with an elder everyday for 30 minutes. You have a conversation with them and share each other’s experiences. You can’t imagine how much you are gaining from them. You learn from their experience and combine yours with that to achieve success. When you are with an elder, you only gain. You lose nothing. You don’t waste your time when you are with an elder, you only gain.
