Never discuss Religion, Politics and Sports with others

Science says these seven tactics will help you win any argument ...

I have seen friendships falling apart, relatives fighting with each other, people forming bitter opinions about others when they indulge in a war of words over religion, sports and politics.

Opinions about anything are very personal. One must keep his or her opinion sensibly and politely in front of others. You can never enforce your ideology on others. Everyone has their choices and they have the right to form opinions of their choice.

You must only discuss religion, sports and politics if you are a very matured and patient person or you should never do it. We always forget that everyone has the right to form opinions about certain things. When we keep our opinion in front of others, we always think that our opinion is right. It’s not always like that.

Opinions about religion, politics and sports are very personal. It’s based-on one’s liking. I might like Lionel Messi; you might like Neymar. That’s fine, there’s no need to discuss and fight over this issue. There is no need to prove each other wrong. Similarly, everyone has different political ideologies, there’s no need to fight with your friends and relatives over it. Discussing religion is also one of the reasons behind shattered friendships and relations.

Why discuss all these things when they are affecting your relations and friendships. If you are mature enough to listen to others and accept their opinions, it is fine to discuss. If you respect other’s choices and opinions, you can discuss these things. But we all know the truth. Most people are not good at accepting other’s opinions.

So, you must try to avoid discussions on religion, politics and sports with your friends and relatives. There are millions of other things to talk about. Even if you discuss about something with anyone, always remember to respect other’s opinions.
