Maintain Work-Life balance

4 Tips I Used to Find the Perfect Work/Life Balance

Your work is not your life, it is a part of your life. As a person you have many other things to do in your life other than work. People often make the mistake of trading leisure with money and work. This is the silliest blunder that a person can make. People these days want to work hard and earn more money for the first half of their professional life and they plan to spend the other half more leisurely. But who knows whether they’ll be healthy enough to do that? Whether the situation will allow them to live leisurely or not. No one has the answer to the future. But how senseless it looks when people make claims about spending their future in a certain way. Nothing is certain in future.

You must never look too far. Just try to live in the present and maintain work life balance. Although work is worship, but work is not everything. Divide your time in a way that you get maximum time for other activities as well. Normally a person sleep for 7-8 hours. Works for 9-10 hours. And if you see it this way, you’ll find that you are only left with 6 hours of life. In these six hours, you’ve got to spend time with your family, give time to your kids and pursue your hobbies. You’ve got so much on your plate, but you are only left with 6 hours. Ask yourself, is this time enough for you? Is there an activity that you want to start badly but are not able to do because of shortage of time?

Yes, somewhere down the line we all want that ‘Me’ time. We all want that extra hour where we can just do what we like. But the reality is that most of the people in today’s era find it difficult to get that extra hour because of working overtime. This extra hour of working will not give you anything except regrets for later part of life.

So, stop working for more than 8 or 9 hours and start giving time to you and your family. Cut down your sleeping time a bit and make it the extra hour of your life where you can do whatever you like. The time when no one can disturb you. The time that no one can snatch from you. Do exercise, go swimming, try new activities, take up a sport or go cycling. You’ll see that this extra hour of activity will prove to be the best time of the day for you. It will be like a meditating time that will keep you energized for the rest of the day.

Maintaining work life balance is of great importance. In this era of ever-increasing competition and depression, we need more time for ourselves. We can only get more time for ourselves when we start managing our work life properly.
